Kim made a decision to change careers in 2006, joining Dan Miller as an administrative assistant in late 2006 from First American Title, where she worked as an escrow officer/branch manager. Her 25 years of escrow and title experience were and are invaluable.
She rapidly advanced in her second career, earning her securities registrations and insurance licenses in 2007. It was in 2010 that Kim realized her goal of being an independent advisor.
Kim holds FINRA securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network® (Commonwealth) for the practice of investment guidance and holds the California state insurance licenses for life, health, and annuities. She is an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) with Commonwealth. She has obtained the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation, from the College for Financial Planning.
Kim is very involved in her community in many varied ways. Having graduated from the Leadership Tuolumne County program, she is the former chairperson of the executive committee and continues as a board member. A long-time member of the Tuolumne County Women's Network, she served as president for 2015. Kim is the treasurer of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne Country. She continues as an officer and secretary on the Board of Sierra Village Mutual Water Company since 1982. Previously, she was the secretary of the Professional Referral Organization of Sonora and was a seven-year board member for WATCH, which supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live, work, and play as integral members of the communities of the Mother Lode region.
Kim was born and raised in the Bay Area, and today resides in the Sierra high country, living in Sierra Village for more than 40 years. She and her husband, Rourke, are high school sweethearts and have been married for 40 years. Rourke is a small business owner and an all-around outdoorsman. In their spare time, they travel the mountains, camp, water ski, quad ride, and snowmobile. Kim loves her Sierra Nevada mountain life.
